They were right - all is well with Jersey!

Earlier this week I was concerned with pretty much everything related to the adopting of pets from the Ottawa Humane Society. I tried to conclude things by putting a positive spin on how the story had progressed - I wanted to believe that the vet who examined Jersey was as good as any other non-OHS vet.

It turns out that the diagnosis was bang on. Poor Jersey had one heck of an "upper respitory infection" but within three days of taking the antibiotics, she was on the rebound. We are now seven days post-diagnosis and the little terror we got to know and love those first couple of days is back - with a vengeance!!

So... assuming that everything keeps progressing the way it currently is, we will be able to look back on the whole adoption experience as a pretty successful one in the end. Does the end justify the means? The jury's out on that as I maintain to this day that the process is pretty onerous and can border on uncomprehensible for little kids if they're involved in it. I don't know how I could explain al the hiccups to a young child who might be as enthused about an adoption as I was as a thirty-one year old.

Having said all that though, Jersey is doing well and the good memories are starting to accumulate. Isn't that what we tend to remember in the end anyway?!
